Success Story

“Best of luck to you Mr. Pou!”

Mr. Richard Pou was admitted to Calhoun Convalescent Center after being hospitalized with respiratory failure, which caused his decline in self-care and ambulation. Mr. Richard has battled COPD and has been in the hospital multiple times since admitting in December of 2022.

After working with physical and occupational therapy, Mr Pou was able to perform activities of daily living while learning to safely manage having oxygen. He is able to walk community distance with a rolling walker while managing his portable oxygen independently. He was very pleased with his progress and excited to be able to return home to see his family!

Mr Pou was such a pleasure to work with and we at Calhoun wish him all the best at home!
